Tools, Resources, and Gear I use to Run my Business
Confession, I used to be a serial website stalker! I was trying to figure out the "tech" side of professional photography because it is definitely not my zone of genius. I didn't want to read the specs on the latest camera. I didn't want to research print labs or credit card processing. I just needed to know what I needed to get the job done. So I stalked all my favorite photographers to find out what they were using.
Doing that gave me a place to start! It is my intention that the suggestions below will give YOU one!
Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission.
** This is the gear I use for portrait sessions, branding sessions, and real estate photography. If you are a wedding photographer, scroll down to see what I would add to my bag if I was still shooting several weddings a year.
** Under $1k, I recommend the same flash, memory cards and batteries mentioned above.
**Once you are comfortable and start seeing income from your business, your next investment would be upgrading to a full camera, either the R6 or 6D linked below are great options. After that, you can start building your L Series lens collection. These lenses and flashes are what I'd add to my bag first if wedding photography was still my primary focus.
**Please note, if you have an R6, you will need to buy the RF L Series lenses.
These are the things I use on a daily basis for marketing, providing a great client experience and a smooth workflow. Several of the options have a FREE version or (30) trial period to see what works for you!
